I agree, to much oil will cause the MAF to get dirty and mess it up. I would use what ever it took to clean it, parts cleaner, carb cleaner or electronics cleaner. Electronics cleaner is pobably the least harsh on the filter. I wash mine out with the K/N stuff the hose it, seems to work fine for me.
