![]() The pickup is not the problem, it's the pump itself.
It's the part of the pump where the gears are that don't fit into the front sump. Somebody really hacked up this oil pan before. The cut the pan in half length wise and re-welded it together(for some reason). They also cut a hole in the front sump and made it deeper so they could get the oil pump to fit. Bottom line is that someone realized the pan they had wouldn't work in a mustang so they "made" it work. I went to AUTOZONE tonight and took a standard pump home to see how it fits and it just fits into the "rigged" front sump. I'm going to price some 351w oil pans from FRPP and do it right this time.
