142 mph - not much room left to go any faster.....
I almost positive that the GT's are electronically limited to 152mph.

I have taken my GT conv. up to 144mph before i got the Power Programmer which removed my limiter. But I have never been up that high since. My friend took his '02 Gt coupe up to 152mph. The rev-limiter and speed-limiter dont have anything to do with each other. Say, if you had 4.56 gears, you would most likely hit the rev-limiter in 5th gear, and not the speed limiter. If you had 2.73 gears you would hit the speed limiter before you hit the rev-limiter.

But the truth is the Mustang is not exactly all that aerodynamic, and its not to stable at speeds that high. Top speeds not that important in a street car anyway... (my opinion) I sold my '85 Vette with Z51 performance suspension, and a 500hp 383strocker. I had that monster up to 172mph, just understand, at thoughs speeds you dont get a second chance...
