vin number location
I just bought a 2001 Mustang GT and noticed some lettering on the engine block (looks like magic marker).
I can't think of a good reason for that to be there, so I wanted to compare the VIN on the engine w/the car. Anyone know where I can find the VIN on the engine? Thanks! |

they mark the blocks on the assembly line to indicate possible problem areas (red or yellow) or good pieces that have been checked already (black)
i wouldn't be concerned unless it has red markings all over it
