NO! I removed mine about 10 years ago and drive it year round, through rain and snow and NEVER had an issue. Now I have a ram air setup with the scoop mounted below the front bumper and the car lowered 1 1/2 inches and I still have never had a problem. I drove down a road the other day during a huge rain storm and the water in the road was up to the top of the curbs and I still had no problems with it.

92GT Lowered with Ebiach's and Koni's, Kenny Brown subframe connectors, lower G-brace and jacking rails. BBK upper and lower control arms, polyurethane bushings all around and Ken Bell blower, ram-air, 80mm mass air, SMC Alky Injection kit, J&S Knock Gaurd, TwEECer RT and a bunch of other stuff!
