My Novi has helical cut gears (as opposed to straight cut on the old Vortech's) and it's not THAT quiet. Slightly audible but nothing too loud. I haven't heard a clip of the SC-Trim yet so I can't comment on how quiet or loud it is.
You could always look into a used A-Trim if you want the old style that badly. BTW: How do you like the sound of the Magnaflows? I was thinking about switching from Dynomax to Magnaflow but it's still up in the air.
