![]() Hey AJ, if you want to keep running the lower octane you will need to retard the timing. Go back 2 degrees at a time till it quits. If its running good where its at just start using at least 92 or 93 octane. As far as the smoking after idle for awhile sounds like the valve stems seals are gone. At idle you have have high vacuum and it pulls the oil in through the valve guides. With that many miles it may be time for a valve job.
