Why don't you just find a 302 from the junkyard and stick in there, that way you can at least drive it and then find your 460 and C-6 and slowly build that up to the way you want it.

I agree with other people on here though. I would build a 351w based motor becuse of the available aftermarket parts and less cost to build than a big block.
You will be able to make, as much, if not more power than a 514 with the same amount of money you have to spend.
If you really want a torque monster, then how about building a 351c.
If you don't care how long the project takes or how much money it takes then go for the 514.

Sit down and make a parts list for all your options and then decide which engine would be better for you to build for the amount of cash you have or lack there of.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you keep all the original parts from that '82GT of yours or you will regret it later on...especially that hood!
