the explorer upper will bolt straight up to a cobra or GT40 lower with no problems at all, you are right about the explorer lower not having a sensor in it, im not sure but i think its the ACT sensor, you have to drill and tap a hole for it, luckily mine was already done when i got it so i didnt have to do it, thats why im not sure exactly what it is, just get a GT40 or cobra lower and your set
