ok, what changed on ur setup that made the car do this? Did u adjust something and then the problem happended? How many miles on the tranny?
The 4.10 gears should not effect the cars shifting, since you have the older model AOD (pre 93 I think). Mine is a 1991 AOD out of a gt, and shift's great in my car. I put an aftermarket TV cable kit on mine, which I believe is similar to the stock setup on the GT cars in the late to early 90's.

Your car skipping 2nd and going straight to 3rd seems odd, not sure right now how the cable would cause that, but I really need more details to help give advice on this.

I would not put a c-4 in there, probably just a waste of money right now. On the other hand, if you are just wanting to make this a strip warrior, then go for the c-4. If you plan on driving it on the hihway at all....plenty of people in here have gotten the AOD to perform well for them.
