You could find a brand new '03 for a little over $30k. $27k for a '01 with 15,000 miles AND that's been wrecked doesn't seem like the best deal.

If you could talk them down to under $23k, then it might be worth it.

See if you can get an estimate on the price to fix the truck the right way (i.e. no shortcuts) and subtract that from $27k.
