PCV (positive crankcase ventilation valve) allows fuel air mixture and combustion gases that leak by the rings to be reburned through the combustion process, instead of dumping them into the atmosphere (pollution control)..
So in theory, it's purpose is to reduce emissions by directing these unburned gases into the aircleaner to be reburned.... a breather cap just dumps the bi-products into the atmosphere.. ------------------ Black,84 GT,ground effects, shorty headers, 'open' dual exh.,302 HO(no pollution control crap),T5,89 ported heads, edelbrock Performer manifold, Edelbrock 2122 cam,600 Holley, high volume oil pump... Some day (3:73 gears & N2O)!!! will this ever end???? |
