This voltage regulator is there a way to check it to see if it is working and also has this happened to other mustangs before because I would think there would have been parts in the ignition to resist voltage spikes.

I'm not sure about the second post, I fixed the 89 Mustang with a complete ignition from an 88 mustang. The 89 and 88 Mustang ignitions were the same correct?

Also could my computer be messing things up
Please let me know if anyone has ever seen this prob
