				 | What's the best launch technique for 40 series DRs w/AODE I have BFG 245/40-18 DRs on my 94 convertible w/aode... I'll be going to the track with them for the first time this weekend. Should I lower them down to about 18psi and heat em up really good for the best launch? I was trying to launch with them on the street to see if they would hook without dropping the pressure or heating them up and they were getting roasted pretty bad. I want to make sure I get the best possible 60' times this time around. Thanks...

				 | Drop them to 25psi, heat them up good, bring your car up against the stall, then drop the hammer when the light turns green.

				 | With 18" tires is it better to not lower the psi as much as you would with 15 or 16" tires?

				 | If you start dropping the pressure too low the tire starts bowing up (rideing on the outer edges) and you won't lay down a good contact patch. -Josh, aka the tireburner

				 | You will never hook up for S H I T with an 18 inch tire. The tire has very little side wall and is stiff as hell. If you are truely worried about a good 60ft get yourself 2 spare 15 or 16 inch rims and buy some slicks for the track.

				 | The 18" DRs hooked ok today of at least better than I thought... I got in 5 runs. Three 2.0 60 foot times and two at 1.9. My best run went like this: reaction: .154 60 Foot: 1.98 1/4: 13.66 MPH: 101 I'm hoping to be in the low 13s after I do a cam and intake swap.

				 | I would think your car would be a ton faster.

				 | You're not the only one... My cam is way to small. I have a xe274hr that's waiting to go in but I have to get a Trick Flow Track Heat first. The car stops pulling after 5500rpms the way it is now. This is actually 7/10s faster then my previous best.... I've actually had lots of problems with my car but will hopefully in the low to mid 12s soon.
