I think you just need a supercharger :-)
With your mods your car should be almost done at over 5k, not just starting to pull. As far as the gears go I personally think 3.73s are a waste of time. I have 4.10s and drive it on the freeway all the time to get to work and back. Go 3.90s minimum. I only noticed a 1-2 mpg loss after the change.
