My engine makes 495FWHP and I use a stock block and a stock crank. Its a 306 with Crower Sportsman rods, CP flat top pistons, .500 lift cam, TFS TW 58cc heads, untouched Air Gap intake, and 4150HP 650 carb.
You'll want to have the block decked and align honed as well as being bored. Andy
