thanks for the info. just thought twice about suspecting the alternator since it works perfect most of the time, and does not work at all other times. i've had alternators fail before, and they usually get gradually worse till one day your gauges go insane, your stero shuts off, and your stuck on the road. never have one go "off and on" like this. i wanted to pick up a pa perfoance alt anyway, just hope it solves my problem.
