![]() Speedo gear in the tranny. Funny thing was I had switched the speedo gear first (it was SHREDDED) and the speedo kept right on bouncing. That means my shredded gear was still driving the cable! I was impressed. Pretty easy to switch the speedo gear, it's one bolt and a clip.
I would gently spray some wd-40 into the back of the cluster though where the speedo cable goes in. I also hung my speedo from a hook vertically and poured silicone down the length of it to get it nice and slick inside so it wouldnt bind again while I owned the car.
