THe 69 heads also have more compression.
I ran a 1970 block with 1969 heads and came up with 10.7:1 compression with flattop pistons.

THe valve seats are a great idea.

The valves are bigger in 1.86" & 1.54" (if I remember right).

ANY cam with under .500" lift ought to do you fine, but thats a whole new can of worms... [which cam question]
