![]() It's not that difficult but time-consuming. Just follow the shop manual. Essentially, you'll want to install the parts in this order:
1 - window regulator 2 - inside door handle regulator 3 - door latch 4 - door handle 5 - door lock 6 - inside door lock pull 7 - all latch connecting rods 8 - vent window and front window guide (one piece) 9 - adjust vent window 10 - rear window guide 11 - door window 12 - adjust window May have missed a piece and some may be different since mine is a 68, but the shop manual tells you everything. May not be the order everyone else assembled theirs but worked well for me. You'll need lots of patience adjusting the window and forget trying to make it perfect like it came off the assembly line - I know from experience it won't happen, but you "can" get it real close. Main thing is to get it parallel across the top, adjust the stops to get the height right, and adjust the glass in or out to get a good seal against the weatherstrip when the door is closed. If you haven't hung the door yet, I'd pre-load it about an 1/8" high for the weight of the glass. Was told to pre-load about a 1/16" (which I did) but mine is about a 1/16" low. Hope this helps some. |
