Seems a bit high for a rebuild.
Seems like too much to me. First thing you need to decide is do you want an automatic or a standard. If you decide on a standard, get a 4 speed out of any donor car (unless you are converting to a new trans) and re-build it yourself. I did that to mine for under 500.00 and it works like a charm. The owner of toploaderheaven.com fixed me right up with everything I needed. He even has tips on buying a used trans on his site. It's worth checking out.
