Your best bet would be to modify a stock intake (87-93 HO intake). Porting the lower is easy, just takes lots of time. You can extrude hone the upper, or cut it in half, do you porting and weld it back together (dress the welds and repaint/polish the whole intake).

Adding an "under the intake" direct port nitrous setup wouldn't hurt either....
But when you take into account the time and effort it takes to do that, I'd rather just spend 150-200 bucks for a Explorer intake.
