![]() Keep the 373's and run a 26 inch slick instead. The formulas work well for street tires or drag radials but slicks grow down track and by the end of the run, your 28" tire is probably more like a 29.5" tire at the finish line. My RPM at the finish line and MPH on 26" slicks was always about 500rpm lower than what it should have been according to the calculators.
What did you run at the track? if you were only at 4500 on a 25.7" street tire then you probably would be best with 4.10's and a 26"slick. I don't think you'd run out of gear with 4.30's and 28" tires (slicks anyways).
