I was on a road trip in Oklahoma last year in my 97 GT Vert. It rained like hell all the way up the night before and the temp was in the 40's. The car was covered in red Okie mud. I drove through a brushless car wash. BIG MISTAKE!!! There was more water IN the car than on the outside. The car looked pretty good, but the whole interior, including the passengers was soaked! Never take a convertible through a high pressure wash.

The only way to wash a car properly is with a bucket and a hose. My first job when I was 15 was washing cars at a Texaco Station (I'm revealing my age, remember full service gas stations where they washed cars and did oil changes?) and I used to detail cars for extra money when I was first married. Even hand wash car washes can't please me, I have to come home and detail it. I try to wash my cars every week, and usually in between wipe it down with a quick detailer such as Zaino Gloss Enhancer or ClearKote Quik Shine.

I can have my car show ready in less than 2 hours because of this!
