![]() Just to clarify, you just bought an 89 Mustang or an 89 motor? A stang for that year would have the HO, IIRC 205 HP (I think that was the "official" rating in 89, it kept changing, but real life it was about 225hp.)
If you just bought a 5.0 motor, the non HO was mainly used in cars like the Vic and Marqueis, it was somewhat de tuned, and correct me if I'm wrong, but had lower compression,and a different cam. The number 180 keeps jumping out to me as the HP. If you just got the motor and are not sure which it is, the non HO had the intake/TB turned toward the driver side instead of passenger.
