when i did the pipes on the back of the heads for the polution i took the pipe off and cut them and put them in a vise and crimped it shut and it dont leak so if you could find something to crimp it instead you would'nt have to weld

Here's a better idea that is reversible:

Take the air pump tube and hack off a few inches at the end. Pound one end flat and fold it over and stuff rtv inside it to seal that end then slide this onto the h-pipe's tube and clamp it as an endcap. This way, you can simply pull the cap off later if you need your air tube.
