There's a huge discussion on stangnet(where I'm getting my butt kicked) completely about this. It starts talking about smog pumps and then moves through the entirety of emissions equiptment and ends complaining about california:

But an intake spacer is a fabulous way to block egr and reduce intake temps at the same time.

Get the billet spacer. Less garbage under the hood. The only problem I ran into with removing the egr and putting on the spacer was, It made the throttle body linkage hit one of the hard coolant lines going to the heater core. Cut out the hard line and put on hoses and problem solved. I also went on ebay and bought one of those egr eliminator sensor things, all good...
