Default Re: explorer 5.0 engine swap

Should be a fairly simple swap overall.

You'll need to swap motor mounts. Then make sure ya have all the electronics for the new motor since the 4.6L ECU won't work, unless you go carb'd. Although if you go with EFI the explorer ECU uses the PATS system which can be a PITA. Oh and you'll have to make sure you get the proper exhaust, don't use the explorer exhaust manifolds cuz they use a y-pipe to single exhaust. Get the exhaust parts off of a Mustang so you can have full duals.

As for tranny I'm not sure if it bolts up or not, I believe that it does but could be wrong.

I'm sure there's lots of other little small things but thats probably most of the major things.
