I'd shoot for something in a 239/244 range at .050". Any of the alphabet cams are anemic compared to what you can get from a custom cam. I had perfect driveability, both EFI and carbureted from the same Cam Motions cam in this range with unported GT-40P heads and still cranked out more than 450hp with good idle and stability. May not pass emissions, but wasn't a concern for me at the time.
