You won't have to drop the tranny to install a manual valve body. I'd recommend going with a Dynamic VB (www.dynamicracingtrans.com). Talk with Harold and he'll answer all your questions about the necessary upgrades for what you plan on doing. The TCT converters portion of Dynamic make some of the best converters on the market so they can help you there too.
