Had you changed the oil prior to the trip to Vegas? The reason I asked is several years ago I built a new engine for my 16 year old. After about a month he came home complaining that his oil pressure was low. After checking the oil, I found it about 2 and a half quarts low. We had changed the oil at 500 miles with no problem but he didn't check the oil after that thinking that a new engine would not use any oil. Wrong! By the time we found it in a too low condition, the damage was done. Time to rering and do another bottom end. Valuable lesson but expensive.
