Well Stang Hottie, the first thing i'd recommend if you want to learn about cars is to READ ALOT. Buy a manual for your car and read through it. Most of the sections have a small portion at the beginning of the section explaining what that particular system does. THere are other books like Car Repair for dummies (first car book i got when i was 16) and since then i've read up on the sciences of automotive design and why and how things work. You'd be surprised at HOW SIMPLE most systems are once you break them down. After you get the general idea of how things work and what they do on paper, getting hands on experience helps a ton on understanding how it all works. It's almost impossible to understand everything at one time though, so don't get frustrated if you have trouble understanding some of the systems. For example, i'd recommend learning about automatic transmissions last. Electrical and engine systems are the easiest to learn in my opinion and are the most interesting, then going on to suspension, brakes, air conditioning, manual transmission, etc. Good luck, glad to hear you've taken an interest in this fun field.

-Also, don't be afraid to ask any questions on this board, people are very nice and helpful.
