Default Re: Timing Chain

I was putting my 302 back together tonight and I couldn't exactly remember the correct how you put the timing gears in place. Last summer i up and decided i wanted a gear drive so i bought one and took the timing cover back off just waiting on the part. Being lazy, I never got around to putting it on then after reading more about them I decided to just use the double roller. 5 months later, now I cant remember if you line up the key way to the pin on the camshaft, but thats what i was thinking but its been to long. all ive worked on at school this year is Cummins 6cyl diesels. last year i rebuilt 2 302's one being mine and another one being a friend of mines then i had to put a 351w together that belonged to the instructor. i tried to get the old bastard to trade me but he wouldn't. but anyway if im right just knod your head and if im wrong correct me. thanks guys
