Several years ago, like '98, I got my cars original t-5 rebuilt, with all the work done in the shop (i.e. drop/reinstall) and a new SVO clutch for like 800.
Whether you get it rebuilt or buy a new one (not that much more), Make sure you get the alum. quadrant and adjuster. Trust me, the POS plastic stuff is crap.

Out of curiosity: Are you also getting the "Automatic- Impersonation". Where the car tries to creep forward when in gear at a stop?
