![]() Studs have to be pressed in. The old ones have to be pressed out as well. I removed my axles, pounded them out with a sledge hammer and took the new studs with axles to a machine shop. They pressed them right in. I just got open ended lugs with really long studs. The tech inspector can glance them over.
On a final note, most local hill billy tracks don't even check your studs. I've seen guys running 4 lugs with a five lug axle!! If it looks like a street car, you're probably ok. If it looks like it's going to pull a 4' wheel stand, they might check your lugs.
