Hard Shift into reverse??

Year, engine etc, then you can determine.
Trans. code on door plate.
If you crawl under it MustangII460 has the correct visual.

could be a motor or tranny mount? i'd get someone to look at the engine while u shift it into gear and then reverse with u'r foot on the brake. also could be a u-joint do the same thing and see it the drive shaft jolts. i aske dthe same thing about how to tell the diff between tranny's someone posted these sites for me to tell the diff between the pans.

Thanks for the pic's they help alot, my door plate is missing so no go there. I will have my sisters boyfriend help with the looking under the car when shifting.

Any suggestions on good oil? time for a oil change? engine is a 351 cleveland.

I believe the tranny is a C4 it had some #'s that i still need to get to hard to see but it had- big A ontop of the right side with Fomoco on it and #'s. Left side said bigger Fomoco. Thanks Jim
