I guess because the engine, to me, is the heart of the car. With a lot of the rods,they're already "frankencars' built out of lots of different things, so its not so bad. Swapping a Chebbie into a "true" ford seems to take the personality/heratige away from it and turn it into a "kit-car". Just my .02 J
