Default Re: need a motor

well to be honest i didn't look into it that much. went i first started it it was okay but I gave it one good rev up and it started to smoke now the oil pressure is ok I didn't do any compresion test. I was thinking rings right away. now I have had guild go bad on my mopar motor they smoke when you start them up but then goes away or lessens. this smokes prety good the hole time. Now the motor seem ok other wise just smokes perty bad. you say it is a easy change to change guild? how easy and what would i need? and does it sound like that is the problem. It would beat changing the motor. the car was a daily drive for a guy and he sold to a (no nice word comes to mind) the person i bought it from. Probaly sat for a few month at least. I ran it for a while it is not left over oil. If you throtal it, it is worse then if you hold it at a solid RPM but either way it smokes. what do you think should I give it a shot?
