![]() I think the mid to late 90's 3.8's were supposed to be pretty good on gas. The best i ever saw was 26mpg on the interstate but just once. Just around town and shit was like 16. My advise is on a mid 90's Ford Contour with a 2.0. Why? My idiot sister has a '95. Shes had it for about 4 years, I think the oil has been changed twice maybe three times and I put new plugs and wires on it 2 winters ago. I drove it last month and it now has about 250k. I put maybe 5 gallons of gas in it and drove it to Evansville Ind. (3hr round trip). Probably not the coolest vehicle in the world but I would rely on it. I'm not real sure but I think it gets around 35mpg. I'm pretty sure they're cheap 2. She gave 5k for hers back in 2001. But for real 2.3L mustangs are probably one of Fords top shames.
