Neither does a one-off custom-built machine with 4 wheels and a parachute to stop it mean much in the real world of cars and driving. The whole comparison thing (Corvette, 747, whatever) is a bit pointless but some of the statistics are interesting even if somewhat inaccurate because they are based on incomplete information or false assumptions.

The point of the article is that dragsters go very fast, very quickly - just as they are intended to. Got it.
