I wouldn't. ARP fasteners are cheap insurance. Girdle is worth the money too.

And for the record, I wanna SEE a 500hp motor running on 5/16" fuel line. Sure, I can give you 1,000 psi fuel pressure if you want, but the volume just isn't there. You should be able to sneak by, but I'd definitely look at it in the near future. 1/2" aluminum hard line is cheap enough also.
