Headliner in a 66 coupe

When I was restoring my 68, I bought a video that showed exactly how it was done. I had never done one before, but a friend helped me and it was quite easy to my surprise. The hardest part was stretching and smoothing out the wrinkles on the rear sides. After we stretched it out, got it lined up perfectly, got all the wrinkles out, and glued it in place, I used about 40 strong clips to hold in place for a couple of days. I then trimmed off the excess, installed the front and rear windshields, and the side windlace. However, my front and rear glass were both out. The shop manual says you can do it with the glass in and you tuck and glue the front and rear under the windshield weatherstripping. However, I don't know if I'd trust that method since the glass helps hold the front and rear of the headliner in place.
