Why is it hard to shift gears after car is hot???

man my car does the same thing, sometimes im sitting at a light holding up traffic, struggling for 1st gr, it sux, i was told it is a "stretched cable", i think they can actually heat up and stretch, but not sure, the remedy to this is an "adjustable quadrant", such as steeda, bbk, or i heard replacing the stock cable helps, and is not to expensive, i know its not clutch wear, cuz my clutch is brand new.

but hope you get it fixed, i just can afford a quadrant now later....
