The cam should be fine for what you are doing with it. What are you using for an advance? What is your base timing? Have you revved the engine with a timing light on it to see what the total timing is? FWIW, my stock chambered TW's wanted 40 degrees total on my carbed engine.

Last time I had the light on it I set the total @36 deg. while running @2000rpm. I thought it was the carb being new, but the way it is acting leads me to think something is up with the timing.Because I've had the carb worked on and was told the problem is somewhere else. My whole ignition system is a stand alone to help make it easier to troubleshoot. Every part on this thing is new so now I'm trying to work out all the bugs. but it does'nt seem to make much difference when I change the timing.

1) Are you positive you dont have a vacuum leak?

2) Borrow a known working carb from somebody and try it. I had a brand new in the box 575 Holley that wouldnt run for crap. Swapped it out with another and it was fine.
