If you dont have the shroud, give that a try. If not, I can post pics of my electric setup, no switches, the controller turns itself on....anywhere from something like 30 percent power all the way to 100 percent on high...pretty reasonable setup-since it was partly a junk yard swap. Also easier on alternators.
