Ok so the dash harness dont plug into the engine harness.
You can. A. Swap to a different year engine harness that matches up with the dash harness.(Reccomended.) B. Swap out the dash harness to a year that matches up with the engine harness. (Definitely the hard way.) C. Splice the two harnesses together. (I did this for a buddy and I was able to get everything working but the fuel pump wouldnt come on on its own when you turned the key forward. So we had to rig up the fuel pump.) Godd luck,
