Default Re: How does lobe seperation affect drivabilty?

LSA or lobe separation angle is the figure representing the degrees of crankshaft rotation between the maximum lift of intake and exhaust lobes from each other.

Generally, the larger the lobe separation angle, the less overlap and greater drivability the camshaft has. Overlap isn't all about LSA and LCA though, total duration plays a part here as well.

The TFS camshaft has more LSA, but it also has longer duration. Even so, I expect the TFS cam is probably more streetable with a smoother idle.
