You're gonna starve that thing with a stock type mechanical pump. I hope you got a big radiator and a good fan for that .060 over block. With that much compression and .060 over, it'll heat up good.

Yep, Both these guys are right!!!!

82GT said I'd disagree, and I'm gonna. If you're gonna buy a Mallory pump, just give ME the money instead. JUNK Hell, they can't even build an ignition system, let alone a fuel system. It's OK I got my buddy headed in the right direction with his Holley pump. And when that summa beeotch runs an 11.90 this summer, he's gonna say "What noise???" hehehehe

And 80 GPH ain't gonna cut it. That dog won't hunt!

IEC is also right, that motor is gonna be LOOOKIN for fuel if you put a mechanical pump on her. Like I said before, I'm no fan of mechanicals anyways.

Bite the bullet now, spend the money. I know that sucks, I have to talk MYSELF into doing it the RIGHT way the first time. If not, you're gonna do it again.....

Well...put it this way. I have 2.5inch flowmasters with single chamber mufflers, I'm turning 3500 rpms on the highway to do 60mph bacause of my 4:10's and I can STILL hear that pump whine!

In all fairness though, I don't have a full interior to help absorb some of the sound but it's still annoying.
Jester knows his stuff about fuel systems, don't get me wrong, but I don't like Holley blue pumps. You can ask anyone, start a thread about it, and everyone will tell you that Holley pumps are loud and Mallory's are MUCH quieter.
Start a thread on this, and some other boards, just to see what everyone else says and then decide for yourself.

Nah, I just have an "idea". I also have an idea that there's something wrong with 82GT's pump, cuz my BG400 ain't even that loud!

We'll get to the bottom of the noise and fix it, and he's gonna be a happy camper.

A blue pump will make it happen, but if it was me, I'd already opt for the black. I have this bad habit of "planning for the future", and it bites me in the ass all the time. Ask anyone around here. Is this the absolute LAST motor we will ever buld for this car? Is there ANY chance that any upgrades we do will require more fuel? Do I feel like laying under this car for 4 hours again to re-run a new fuel system?

If a blue is GOOD TO GO, won't a BLACK be better? This is the bane of my existance. This shyt literally keeps me awake at night, and I hate it, but I love it.

I have a few sayings when it comes to stuff like this. VERY few. But the few I have I stick to religiously. One of them fits in quite nicely here:

"Do it RIGHT, or do it TWICE."
