yeah i was about to scrap the cobra and trade it in for an S4, but with only 78k miles on it and considering i was on a waiting list for about 6 months to get it, i felt a bit obligated to keep it and pay a little more attention to it's needs, like, oil. haha. it was definately a learning experience to take the engine out and swap the conrod bearings. then as new problems arised, using the internet was key to problem solving. i cleaned out the iac with carb cleaner and it solved the problem by about 90%, but it's a tad finicky when i force the rpm's to drop by letting the clutch off on a down shift. i'll just replace it and see what happens. i have a feeling the motor just has a stripped gear or the gunk got in places it shouldn't had. only a $90 loss. thanks again. i hope this message board stays up for those inthe future that have idle issues. |
