I think the LED ones might add modern technology to an old car, but I would never think of the clear lens.

I just put a pair of LEDs in my tail lights and they do make a big difference. They are a lot brighter and light up the lens area more evenly. Just wish they fit a little bit better but they can be easlily modifided. KCC Mustang sells them cheaper than most on ebay. Oh, and I would never put those clear lenses on my car.
